The Seattle Urban Academy was suggested as a possible destination of a donation. The holiday season is a particularly difficult time for these folks and their needs are very basic. After a brief discussion, it was agreed that a donation to SUA would be appropriate.
Seattle Urban Academy is situated in Seattle's Rainier Valley. SUA is a positive, alternative, Christian, educational community where at-risk high school students develop academic, social, and spiritual maturity to graduate to higher education and sustained employment.

November 2010
The November meeting focused on completing the shopping, preparation and final delivery for our annual Thanksgiving basket giveaway.
The shopping was completed during the first snow storm of the year. A big thank you to Jay Halle, our Campbell/Nelson Chaplain, for helping with the final shopping trip. Thanks Jay, we couldn't have handled all of those hams without you!
Our Thanksgiving menu this year: spiral cut ham, pumpkin pie, canned corn and green beans, fruit cocktail, stuffing, potatoes, butter, rolls, sparkling cider, whipped cream topping, peanut butter and turkey gravy.
A big thank you to Clint at the Lynnwood Albertson's for providing 'at cost' food items for our food baskets.
The team met the Monday evening before Thanksgiving and began the building of the food baskets. Everything went smoothly, and before long we were on our way to deliver the baskets to the apartment complex next door to Campbell/Nelson.
The families we delivered to were appreciative of the food baskets and we were all thankful that we were able to help these families during this holiday season.
