February 2010

We were honored to welcome Salina, who is one of the resident World Concern relief directors from Sri Lanka. Salina presented us with a hand painted canvas from the children of one of the villages that was assisted by World Concern. She spoke about how the relief efforts had helped this village return to a functioning community. Salina is staying with Kurt and Cari during her visit to the states.

Haiti disaster relief remains the focus of our efforts this month.

The committee decides to make another donation to the World Concern Haiti relief efforts. In addition, we have been presented with an opportunity to further assist World Concern by building "Kids Healing Kits" for use in Haiti.

The committee votes to commit resources to this effort. We will have an employee/customer donation drive to help put together the individual pieces of the healing kit. Committee members will also attempt to seek some donations from the community to help this effort.
