The January meeting occurred soon after the Haiti 7.0 earthquake. The committee was in unanimous agreement that all available funds should be used to help aid the earthquake victims.

The most direct opportunity for helping was through World Concern. World Concern has been 'on the ground' in Haiti since 1979, and after the earthquake still had an intact support infrastructure in place. In addition, we knew from previous donation efforts that 94% of our donation would go directly to support the haitian people.

The committe decided to keep a small reserve fund and make an immediate wire transfer of donation funds directly to World Concern. In addition, we decided to ask Dave Eller, President of World Concern, to come in as a guest speaker the following week.
The committe also decided to start a customer/employee cash donation drive to be contributed to the Haiti earthquake.
